as well as that of his supporters. Victor Davis Hanson, as usual,
hits the mark today in
National Review Online.
"Equity," and "equality," the well-intentioned but naive will discover, are moving targets, always to be aspired to, but never achieved. As such, they are weapons ever at the ready to be used as a justification for demonization of the productive citizenry, and confiscation of their hard-earned wealth to be redistributed according to the prevailing victimization narrative. Victims, who, by the way, always remain victims, as they remain ever dependent upon the largesse of those who produce nothing but take everything. The only ones empowered by the victimization narrative are those who do the stealing, and every decision they make is designed to keep them in power. Thus, their success is dependent not only upon others' financial achievements, but also upon a pervasive ignorance of the population, which they propagate and encourage through lies and control of the educational system and the media.
Like every other statist philosophy advanced in modern memory, this one is doomed to create resentment, division, and economic collapse. It has absolutely nothing to recommend it, and the rhetoric that accompanies it, whether flowery or inflammatory, masks a long history of complete and total failure.
Wise up, America.
